EVN Social Fund

In order to combine and add transparency to existing social sponsoring activities EVN has founded a Social Fund with an annual endowment of EUR 100,000 and an expert committee to help run it. This focuses on the sustained support of youth institutions in Lower Austria and held its constitutive meeting at the end of September 2008.

Social Fund Expert CommiteeThe experts, consisting of Gabriela Peterschofsky-Orange, Helga Preitschopf, Harald Wieser and Elisabeth Baum-Breuer under the chairmanship of the Caritas Austria director, Michael Landau, pass on unanimous recommendations to the EVN Executive Board concerning the distribution of funds. Working sessions of the committee are held twice yearly.

First EVN social fund projects now implemented

Until now, several organisations including the Morgenstern Association or the Dorothea Training Centre have been supported, both taking care of young people in difficult personal situations. The Caritas child bereavement group in Mistelbach and the intercultural Lower Austria refugee social psychotherapy centre have been supported.
