CSR materiality matrix

The 2011 version of EVN’s CSR matrix of materiality was compiled using the results of the polling of stakeholders carried out in 2010. In accordance with the requirements established by the Global Reporting Initiative, the values listed on the X and Y-axes describe the priorities assigned by corporate management and by stakeholders respectively to major indicators of sustainable development.

The areas of polling are those thirteen in which EVN’s operations assure sustainability of corporate development: “protection of the environment”, “conservation of resources”, “security of supply”, “fair prices”, “responsible employer”, “sustainable increases in corporate value”, “integration of and expansion in southeastern Europe”, “internal consumption of resources”, “environmental protection”, “societal responsibility”, “avoidance of corruption”, “stakeholder dialogue” and “human rights”.

EVN compiled this matrix by polling 251 key stakeholders. These experts are staff members, customers, suppliers and investors. Others work for or represent the media, NGOs, stakeholder platforms, sector and trade associations, market players and competitors. Also encompassed were politicians, officials, scientists, researchers, and members of EVN’s supervisory board, management and representatives of shareholders.

EVN’s program of CSR measures is derived from the indicators incorporated into the CSR matrix of materialness and takes into account the objectives established for the company.
