Stakeholder dialogue
The intensive dialogue pursued by EVN with its stakeholders – defined to be all those groups with interests in the company - is undertaken to implement its commitment to managing EVN in a way sustaining growth. Reflecting the company’s conviction of this being the sole way of assuring corporate development, this dialogue enables the company to satisfy the manifold aspirations of these parties, and to recruit them for this process. This commitment is being realized through a strategic concept enabling the management of stakeholder relationships through the systematizing and structuring of this outreach and through the encompassing a large number of corporate areas in it. This management facilitates the company’s communication activities, the identification of partners suited to and suitable for such dialogues and working relationships, and the prompt detection of topics affecting our society and environment.
Successful stakeholder management enables us to:
- realize projects
- lessen risks and defuse threats to its image
- foster a positive perception of the company and its activities
- attain high values of likeability and to secure confirmation for its operations from stakeholders – including those both inside and outside the company (staff members, customers, partners, official bodies, communities, neighbors, other involved citizens, NGOs, societal players and the public in general)
Two case studies of EVN’s best practices in the area of stakeholder dialogue are presented below:
- With the erection of the first wast incineration plant in Lower Austria in 1994 EVN's first and most extensive stakeholder dialogue started.
- EVN received the first price of the TRIGOS 2010 award in the category Community for the project Stolipinovo.
- EVN is strongly interested in the dialogue with its customers. To achieve this, the company founded in Spring 2011 its Customers’ Board.
