EVN’s health care programme
As a means of intensifying and expanding its health care initiatives, EVN already started preparing a binding internal directive in the 2003/04 financial year in a process which was concluded in the 2004/05 financial year. These guidelines commit EVN to implement the following measures to be coordinated by a health care working group consisting of both management and employee representatives:
- Direct information provided to employees by the responsible occupational physician.
- Regular information on health care issues in the employee journal EVN Intern, published several times a year.
- Information regarding vaccination schedules
- Promotion of fitness and exercise programmes, in particular the EVN Culture and Sports Club
- Expanded range of preventive medicine examinations
- Nutritional recommendations by the occupational physician on the basis of these preventive medicine examinations.
- Involvement of the occupational health care team in preparing menus for the company canteen
- Ergonomic and workplace optimisation through regular checks of working processes and conditions and development of corresponding optimisation measures.
EVN’s workforce has positively responded to the offering of the occupational health care service. Up until now, about 500 employees have taken part in the extended preventive medicine examination.
