EVN Culture and Sports Club

Sport, exercise and being together in a convivial atmosphere characterise the diverse offering of the EVN Culture and Sports Club.

One staff initiative with a decade-long tradition is the EVN Culture and Sports Club (KSV). Founded shortly after World War II under the former NEWAG, KSV clubs have steadily developed over the years, and now offer a broad range of activities.

EVN primarily supports these activities in accordance with its emphasis on promoting health. Depending on their personal interests and individual needs, EVN employees come together in their free time to keep themselves physically fit as well as to play and train with each other. Soccer, gymnastics, running, curling, sport-shooting, chess, sailing, fishing, swimming and tennis are a few of the activities which are offered. In addition, philately, flying, golf, aerobics, weightlifting, spinal gymnastics, diving, table tennis, hiking and winter sports are also regularly offered, and are enthusiastically engaged in by employees.

At the same time, participating in KSV activities promotes employee communications and strengthens social ties and shared values within the company. In the day-to-day work performed by employees, this helps foster a spirit of unbureaucratic and interdisciplinary cooperation in solving any problems that may arise. For these reasons, the activities coordinated by KSV are indispensable to the “corporate feeling” at EVN.

At present, KSV encompasses 16 individual sports clubs located in Krems, Horn, Waidhofen/Thaya, Deutsch Wagram, Hollabrunn, Mistelbach, St. Pölten, Waidhofen/Ybbs, Wiener Neustadt, Korneuburg, Theiß, Dürnrohr and Maria Enzersdorf, with a total of more than 1,500 active members. All clubs have strong links to their respective regions and largely operate autonomously.
