A top priority of EVN’s human resources management is to maintain and expand the high level of employee competence.
With their know-how, commitment and ongoing willingness to learn, employees with top notch qualifications ensure the sustainable corporate success of the EVN Group. For this reason, EVN implements a series of measures to improve employee qualifications, offering its employees a
broad-based portfolio of training opportunities.
In the 2007/08 financial year, EVN invested approximately
EUR 2.9m or about EUR 315 per employee for
further training. This amount encompasses seminar fees, trainers and e-Learning), a slight decline of 2.1% compared to the previous year attributable to the completion of specially designed courses for developing management skills in Austria and comparable events in Bulgaria and Macedonia.
The
training programme of EVN has a
modular structure. Depending on an individual’s specific professional development goals, the modules “training event”, “e-Learning” or “Training on the Job“ are employed. The range of activities encompasses:

In order to increase the effectiveness of EVN‘s training and professional development measures, training is primarily held in the
specific social environment of employees at work. This enables employees to establish communicative groups with strong social and emotional ties which positively influence labour productivity.
On average, every employee complete 11.4 hours of training each year, which adds up to a total of 105,765 training hours or 13,308 training days for the entire EVN Group. In addition to computer training and specialist seminars as well as behavioural coaching aimed at further enhancing social skills with regard to customers and fellow employees. colleagues.
In order to facilitate the entry into the company for
new recruits, EVN has developed a
specific package of seminars, training and introductory events as well as a specially designed welcome folder. In addition, each new employee is assisted by a personal “mentor” accompanying the employee on his or her first days at work and introducing this individual into the internal work processes and corporate culture of EVN.
