Attentive care provided to older employees
An important aspect of EVN’s human resources management is taking account of the age structure within the company.
Due to rationalisation measures and the related decision not to fill vacant positions, EVN employees have an
average age of about
44. This represents a relatively high figure, and is expected to rise even further as a result of increases in the legally stipulated retirement age.
Against this backdrop, EVN has intensified its
further training programme targeting older employees. It also offers part-time working models within the context of a
partial retirement programme, which involved 72 employees in the 2007/08 financial year.
Due to the fact that close to two-thirds of EVN’s workforce is over the age of 40, EVN has intensified its efforts to hire younger people. The number of apprentices has also risen.
The
average length of service in the EVN Group is approximately
16.3 years, which clearly demonstrates the high levels of employee loyalty and satisfaction. This is also made evident by the low fluctuation rate in the EVN Group of less than 3.9 %.
