Attentive cooperation based on mutual respect
EVN‘s social partnership operates in line with the slogan, “Conviction before compulsion”.
Major business decisions on the part of the EVN Group are made in a transparent manner in accordance with the managerial mission statement and on the basis of binding legal regulations. It goes without saying that employee representatives are integrated into the decision-making process and provided with information.
This approach applies to strategic decisions as well as changes and adjustments in the personnel sector. For example, staff representatives and the affected employees were supplied with information pertaining to organisational changes carried out in recent years above and beyond the extent stipulated by legal requirements.
Works councils not only exist at EVN AG but also at all large companies in the EVN Group. They are regarded as partners within the context of a constructive system of management. The works councils are part and parcel of the Supervisory Board just as much as they are represented in the Advisory Board for the Environment and Social Responsibility.
On balance, more than 90 % of all employees are represented by works council delegates or trade unions and protected with regard to collective wage agreements, pay scales and statutory minimum wages.
In addition, special attention is paid to
- older employees
- people with special needs
- young people
A European Works Council for the EVN Group was set up as a means of further integrating the new subsidiaries in South East Europe. It consists of three members each from Bulgaria and Austria and one from Macedonia. The election took place on September 12, 2007.
EVN’s European Works Council is designed to serve as a platform for communications and understanding. Since its inception, one meeting of the executive committee has taken place along with a meeting with the Executive Board of the EVN Group in Sofia. The EVN European Works Council also convened once in Macedonia on October 24, 2008.
