We are committed to adhering to the principles of sustainable economic development, and assume responsibility to prudently use the resources entrusted to our care.

Pro-active environmental protection has a long tradition and a special role at EVN.

Back in 1990, EVN already set up its own department for environmental protection, defining goals and values in an environmental mission statement.
In 1995, EVN initiated the certification process for its power plants in accordance with EMAS and ISO 14001, thus implementing with a voluntary management system designed to improve the environmental performance of its power generating facilities.
