Sustainable waste management
Environmentally-compatible waste management is comes naturally to EVN.
At the beginning of the 1990s, EVN set up unified waste collection centres at all sites in Lower Austria to ensure the proper and separate waste collection. At the same time, EVN installed a corresponding software system to electronically register data on all waste materials collected in the company.
The existing waste management system is being continually optimised.
EVN consistently operates in accordance with the following criteria (in this order):
- Prevention
- Recycling
- Disposal
Development of waste management in the new subsidiaries in South East Europe
Similar to Lower Austria, EVN is establishing a unified waste management system at the new subsidiaries acquired in South East Europe.
Waste incineration
The waste incineration segment ideally complements the service portfolio of the EVN Group. The EVN subsidiary EVN Abfallverwertung NÖ offers its partners ecologically sensible and cost effective solutions, thus creating a state-of-the-art waste treatment infrastructure for Lower Austria.
