As a company operating in the Energy and Environmental Services segments, EVN is not only required to fulfil its commitments to supplying sufficient quantities of energy, but to fully exploit its potential to contribute to solving current climate protection issues.
Accordingly, EVN strives to achieve a balance between optimal energy supplies and ensuring a minimal impact on the environment.
EVN’s contribution derives from different initiatives and strategic approaches:
- Promotion of renewable energy sources such as water, wind, solar power, biomass and biogas
- Increased energy efficiency with regards to the company’s own production plants and networks
- Active participation in research and development of Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) technologies
- Customer information and consulting aimed at reducing energy consumption
- Regional value added based on using domestic energy resources such as biomass and biogas
- Active expansion of the use of alternative mobility such as electric vehicles or the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and biogas
- The enhancement of sensitivity levels amongst the general public and employees by means of educational and information events
- Measures within the company e.g. the “greening“ of the sourcing process
