New management culture and targeted and targeted training of executives

New structures and cross-border projects make it absolutely essential for managers to acquire new leadership qualities. EVN has laid the groundwork for this.

The transformation of EVN from a regional energy supplier into an internationally active infrastructure Group has led to far-reaching changes and new challenges for top managers. A high level of social competence is more important than ever before, in order to both make demands on and enhance employee capabilities.

Based on this new managerial mission statement, EVN officially launched its new manager training programme in early 2006. In cooperation with a leading management institute, EVN developed a special professional development programme designed to support its managerial staff to optimally carry out their work.

The comprehensive training programme lasts for a period of two years. In the 2005/06 and 2006/07 financial years, every manager completed an average of nine days of training within the framework of this programme.

Training for management trainees initiated

The internal development of management potential constitutes the second important cornerstone of EVN’s strategic growth. In addition to training the existing management team, a special programme was initiated, designed to enhance the capabilities and skills of management trainees, experts and project managers.

The programme aims to prepare selected employees to assume management responsibilities and expert tasks in a changing environment. The core components of this programme are character development and the promotion of social competencies.

This programme is also designed to ensure the filling of key executive positions from within company ranks. At the same time, it shows young employees at an early stage in their careers which opportunities for promotion exist at EVN. More than 150 employees will participate in this executive training scheme.
