The Federal Province of Lower Austria owns a majority stake in EVN. For this reason, EVN’s tender, procurement and sourcing activities are subject to the Austrian Public Procurement Act as well as Lower Austria’s public procurement laws and ensure the highest possible level of sustainability-oriented sourcing.

As a rule, contracts are allocated to authorised, efficient and reliable companies at reasonable prices, taking account of the basic freedoms stipulated within the European Union and the prohibition of discrimination in accordance with the principles of fair and free competition and equal treatment of all applicants and bidders.

In addition, the contract allocation process already takes into account the environmental, employee protection and safety aspects of services and supplies. In particular, these considerations play a role in the tender process, in determining technical specifications and defining specific ecologically relevant contract award criteria.
