As a listed, international corporate group for energy, water and environmental services, EVN has made an essential contribution to the quality of life for our customers and to a functioning economy for more than 100 years.

We see it as a special obligation and a particular challenge – especially in times of great upheaval in climate policy, the energy sector and society – to make a tangible contribution in all our markets to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations as well as the goals set by Austrian and European energy policy. Our sustainability programme, which was developed in line with these requirements, involves all areas of the company and defines concrete measures to help reach these goals.

Sustainable management – meaning the inclusion of all relevant environmental (“E”), social (“S”) and governance (“G”) aspects in our daily activities – has been a cornerstone of our corporate strategy for many years. A regular dialogue with our stakeholders and the strategic priorities derived from this exchange of ideas form the framework for our entrepreneurial actions. Implementation is based on a clearly defined set of values, which also reflects the justifiably high expectations of our stakeholders.

Policies, instructions and guidelines help everyone in our company to integrate these demanding principles in their daily work routines. Anchoring these guiding principles in our corporate culture requires compliance by all employees at all hierarchy levels. Of course, management also serves as a special role model in this respect. Regular communication and training help to put these principles into operation throughout the group. We meet our high transparency standards by publishing these rules as part of the non-financial reporting in our annual Full Report and – classified under environment, social and governance – also in this section of our website.
